Timo Werner Offends Karl-Heinz Rummenigge Over Preferred Transfer to Bayern Munich

Controversial striker for RB Leipzig, Timo Werner’s statement on a possible move to Bayern Munich offends chairman of Bayern Munich, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge. The 24-year-old footballer distanced himself from the team and despite being one of the most eyed players in the Premier League transfer window, the player is still unsure where to move.

The likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, and Chelsea have expressed interest in the player to join their teams in the Premier League. However, German giants, Bayern Munich have pushed just as hard to show interest in Werner but failed to get his equal interest.

“’If a change should become an issue at some point, I would rather take a step abroad than switch to Bavaria,” Werner tells Bild.

The comments triggered a shock from Ruumenigge and responded: “’m actually no longer astonished at anything, but I have never seen a player make such a statement in response to rumours in public.”

Liverpool is reportedly leading in terms of his fit in the Premier League which according to Ralf Rangnick, former Leipzig manager says. The striker showed the most promise and execution under the leadership of Julian Nagelsmann which the young athlete learned how to weaponized as part of his skill set, which include quick switches and a powerful finish, making him well-suited under Liverpool.

Werner has made 150 appearances, 88 goals in the last season for Leipzig since moving from Stuttgart in 2016.
